2025 Open Day Success! In Support of Cancer Research UK

We had a wonderful weekend at Alficina, hosting our 2025 Cancer Research Open Day at our Nottingham workshops! The glorious sunshine helped draw a fantastic crowd to our workshops, attracting an exceptional turnout for our 5th annual Open Day, making this year’s Open Day our busiest yet. Enthusiasts of classic Italian cars travelled from far and wide to spend the morning with us, including a large turnout of new visitors. Premium barista coffee was provided by our specialist catering supplier, Boxed Drinks, who have supported our open days for the past 4 years.

Visitors had plenty to explore, with our premises now home to five busy workshops, an engine room, a modern rolling road tuning facility, and a specialist classic body shop — a testament to the fantastic growth of our business. Our experienced restoration technicians were on hand to discuss all the mechanical aspects of our beloved classic cars. Alongside a stunning selection of Alfa Romeos, we showcased an array of future and modern classics, reflecting the diverse range of vehicles now coming through our doors via our new sister business, Speedshop44. Additionally, our other sister business, P&K Thornton Restorations, also bought a wide selection of British classic cars, particularly a large collection of Jaguars.

We managed to raise £288 for Cancer Research UK, a cause close to our hearts. If you would still like to donate to this remarkable cause, please follow the link: https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/pk-thornton-restorations. Any donations, no matter the size, would be deeply appreciated.

We’re already looking forward to welcoming everyone back for next year’s event. In the meantime, follow us on social media and check our blog on the website to stay up-to-date with other events happening throughout the year. If you have any enquiries, please get in contact.
